MoxiE RoHS & Halogen Free Products Most MoxiE parts can now be ordered in an RoHS-compliant version. Many are available off the shelf; others may currently have a lead time. Here is an explanation of how we are handling the conversion for various types of MoxiE products. MoxiE Lead Free Soldering Recommendations Click on the data sheet below for the recommended Pb-Free wave solder & Pb-Free reflow solder specifications. Summary Part numbers have been changed; the products are unaltered. Previous Non-RoHS MoxiE part numbers will now contain the letter “N” to indicate RoHS compliance. Previous RoHS Product part numbers will remain unchanged. RoHS status of product families Many MoxiE product families never contained any banned substances and have always complied with RoHS regulations. We have changed the part numbers of these components, using the letter “N” in one of the last two positions to positively identify the previous non-RoHS parts as RoHS-compliant. Summary The old MoxiE part numbers will contain the letter “N” to indicate RoHS compliance Some product families required changes to their construction to make them RoHS-compliant. These new RoHS versions are available now. The Material Declaration Data Sheets on our web site provide details on the constituent materials and terminations of these components. If requalification is required, free samples are available from MoxiE. Banned or restricted substances The substances listed below are restricted or banned from use in MoxiE’s products, packaging, & manufacturing processes. • Asbestos • Cadmium (Cd) • Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI) • Lead (Pb), above and beyond RoHS requirements • Organic Tin • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) • Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) • Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) • Polychlorinated napthalene (PCNs) • Polychlorinated terphenyls (PCTs) • Red phosphorous • Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) MoxiE Paints & Inks MoxiE paints and inks do not contain cadmium, chromium, mercury, nickel, or lead. MoxiE customer part numbers Customers can decide whether they wish to issue new part numbers for RoHS-compliant parts, but they will have to change their internal cross-references to MoxiE part numbers.
